One of the tallest towers in Ostrava is being thoroughly redesigned by Eva Jiřičná and Petr Vágner’s renowned AI • DESIGN architectural studio, resulting in a truly unique housing concept.
BLENDING TRADITION AND VISION
Mrakodrap, a unique residential project, pays homage to this Moravian-Silesian city’s industrial roots, defined by vertical structures (factory smokestacks and mining towers). The building will expand the city’s new sustainable direction with its vertical garden that will refresh the appearance of the facade and make residents’ lives more pleasant.

Groundbreaking ceremony
With architects Eva Jiřičná and Petr Vágner in attendance, along with representatives from First Skyscraper s.r.o., Crowdberry, Svoboda & Williams, the city of Ostrava, and regional media outlets, a ceremony to lay the cornerstone of the Ostrava Skyscraper took place on August 11th, 2026.
Construction of Mrakodrap begins
Intense work has begun on the site on Ostrčilova Street. The first step toward building a new skyscraper similar to the one in Ostrava is stripping the original structure down to its skeleton and disposing of waste material in an environmentally responsible manner.
